Late season wrecks

Seems the end of the racing season brings out the worst in some drivers. Last Thursday we get wrecked on the last lap while we had the inside on the 4 car. He just turned down into Evan. Apparently he thinks he needs to continue the driving he's known for at Oxford. He took out 2 cars that were faster than him.
Friday night at Oxford for the Kart Klash. Sorry to see it was nothing like the Klash of 3 years ago. 14 karts in our unrestricted class, though. Evan drew last spot so he had to drive through the field, and the kart is showing the wear from that run. He spun to avoid many wrecks, rattled the clutch plate loose, lost the left side of the nose, and bent the rear bumper to a pretzel. Somehow he was in position to overtake the leader on lap 37 of 40 when the engine started sputtering , running out of fuel. He hung on for 2nd, nice run, Ev.
We decided to race at Richmond on Sunday. We repaired the body, and put the clutch plate back on. 14 karts at Richmond also, bound to be an eventful race. Evan won his heat, started at the rear because he won last time here. After a few false starts because of impatient drivers, the race went green. There was a lot of beating and banging, resulting in several spins and karts repaired under caution. I put plenty of fuel in the tank so we wouldn't worry about running out. Evan made it through the field to take the lead , in a great battle with Tate hodgdon and Willie Pelotte. The 3 of them swapped the lead in the in the final laps, with Tate ultimately winning. Thank you Tate and Willie, for racing Evan clean. That race was worthy of mention at the banquet. I hope someone got it on video. Got to go finish the legends car so we can race 3 times in 2 days. Beech Ridge final race on Thursday, a make-up and regular race at lee on Friday. All for now, Todd

Beech Ridge 8/14

Had a good race at the Ridge last night. Evan started in 6th spot, outside of the 399. On lap 1 the 06 I believe checked up, causing the 10 and 399 to tap each other, the 21 and 87 got together ending the 87's day. Evan restarted in 6th again, and fell back before getting back down in line. He did a great job avoiding several near wrecks, passing several cars and was happy with the car handling. He finished 9th, out of 18 cars on track. We rolled the car in the trailer undamaged. Great job, Evan.

Weather

Looks like the weather will be good for Thursday Thunder this week.

Beech Ridge

I believe the 56 car is going to be good on Thursday. Along with the immense setup help from Bob Weymouth ,the 399, Evan is getting more comfortable with the car and the track. We should be good there. We should be good at Wiscasset also, on Saturday.
